Peter's first foray into consultancy was as Project Manager for an early Coordinated Care Project.

Since then Peter has managed many innovative projects including:

• Aged care initiatives
  
• Developing the model for the ground breaking Aboriginal Coordinated Care Project - known as the Partnership in Aboriginal Care (PAC)
• The development of a new model for an After Hours Medical Service
• Helping to Build Partnerships between Health Bureaucracies and Indigenous Agencies
• Sustainable Community Housing & Child Care Projects
  

Prior to establishing ACHIEVE Peter worked in health and community care service development throughout Australia. His initial focus was on health promotion and community development. This later broadened into senior management, policy and program development roles.

As Director of Mental Health, Aged Care and Disability Services with the Northern Territory Health Service, Peter oversaw the development of many new service development and policy initiatives. This included:

• Management of changes in the relations between the Commonwealth and the NT on Aged Care
• The development of a new Mental Health Act
• The development of an NT wide Aboriginal Mental Health Strategic Plan
• A review of the relationship between the Forensic Mental Health Service and the Prison system with the establishment of the NT's new prison in Alice Springs.
• The management of three major funding programs in Mental Health, Disability Services and Aged Care.

He was also seconded for a short time to project manage major intiatives including the development of a framework for the NT Health Care Complaints Commission.

In his earlier roles in health promotion he facilitated and established many initiatives that have proven to have long term benefits to the communities involved including:

• Drug & Alcohol Initiative in the North West of WA
• Major Nutrition initiatives in the Northern Territory
• Aged Care initiatives in NSW

Peter has high level conceptual thinking and planning skills. He has a proven track record in the development of innovative solutions, is able to build relationships between various parties with competing agendas, and can negotiate equally well in the Board room or under the tree.
